Thomas Arnold 1848 - 1931

Thomas Arnold was born at Brandon, Suffolk in 1848. He was the third child of James Arnold and Mary Arnold (nee Edwards).

On 30th April 1848 Thomas Arnold was baptised at St Peter Church, Brandon, Suffolk.

On 30th March 1851 the Census was held. Thomas Arnold was living in Lode Lane, Thetford Road, Brandon, Suffolk. He was living with his parents James Arnold and Mary Arnold (nee Edwards) and his siblings, James Arnold, William Arnold and Susan Arnold.

On 7th April 1861 the Census was held. Thomas Arnold was living in Thetford Road, Brandon, Suffolk, next door to the School. He was living with his parents James Arnold and Mary Arnold (nee Edwards) and his siblings, James Arnold, William Arnold, Susan Arnold, Henry Arnold and Sarah Arnold.

On 2nd April 1871 the Census was held. Thomas Arnold was living in Thetford Road, Brandon, Suffolk. Nineteen houses up from the Fox and Hounds pub. He was living with his parents James Arnold and Mary Arnold (nee Edwards) and his siblings, Susan Arnold, Henry Arnold and Sarah Arnold. He was working as an Engine Driver.

In 1871 Thomas Arnold married Maria Stebbins in Hockwold cum Wilton, Norfolk. They would go on and adopt a daughter by the name of Alice Rissen.

On 3rd April 1881 the Census was held. Thomas Arnold was living in George Street, Brandon, Suffolk. He was living with his wife Maria Arnold (nee Stebbins) and their adopted daughter Alice M. Rissen. He was working as an Engine Driver.

On 5th April 1891 the Census was held. Thomas Arnold was living in George Street, Brandon, Suffolk. He was living with his wife Maria Arnold (nee Stebbins) and their adopted daughter Alice M. Rissen. He was working as a Stationary Engine Driver.

On 31st April 1901 the Census was held. Thomas Arnold was living in George Street, Brandon, Suffolk. He was living with his wife Maria Arnold (nee Stebbins), their adopted daughter Alice M. Arnold (formaly Rissen) and thier Grandson Gordon E. Arnold. He was working as a Stationary Engine Driver.

On 2nd April 1911 the Census was held. Thomas Arnold was living in George Street, Brandon, Suffolk. He was living with his wife Maria Arnold (nee Stebbins) and their adopted son Gordon Edward Rissen, the son of their adopted daughter Alice M. Rissen. He was working as a Furrier Forman.

In 1931 Thomas Arnold died in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
